Why I chose to make this costume:
I found the perfect fabric for the blue dress at the thrift store for $4, and decided it was time.
Thoughts on this costume:
I love the way this costume turned out. It is the one project I really worked on through parts of 2020 and saw through to completion in 2021. This is the first costume I decided to pay for a styled wig from someone, and learned it really allowed me to focus on the costume itself by taking the part I was most stressed about off myself. I also used my embroidery machine for the first time for this costume, and that was a great learning experience. Originally, I received this costume in exchange for a review, and the revisit was absolutely a glow up! The last photo shows the original attempt at this outfit.
It would be rude of me not to talk about how honored I am to have friends who were willing to drive more than 3 hours one way to visit Hills and Hamlets Bookshop to get a dream photo of this outfit with me on a book ladder. Thank you Jon, Leslie, and Marc! Sorry, not sorry for how many photos I shared of this one! Marc took such lovely photos for me on a white backdrop with details included, and with photos that brought the real beauty of the story to life!
