Why I chose to make this costume:
Unfortunately, the first Supergirl costume I made wasn’t built to last. I chose to make a new version of her that would be more durable.
Thoughts on this costume:
This costume is the reason I own my main sewing machine today. I broke my machine two nights before I needed this to be completed for an event, and my husband’s Grandma, who was a professional seamstress, allowed me to take one of her sewing machines. While this costume ended up not being my favorite, it means a lot to me simply because that machine has gotten me through thick and thin now for almost ten years. The outfit from the show was one of my favorite Supergirl depcitions, but I always felt a bit self-conscious when I wore this, truthfully.
