Mario Tennis: Princess Peach

Why I chose to make this costume:
Mario Tennis was one of my favorite N64 games growing up. My friend, Kyla, who I was lucky to meet through blogging, was planning to bring her Rosalina to my second Pax East, and so I swindled (easily) Josh and Matt into joining us as Mario and Luigi.
Thoughts on this costume:
Looking back on this, there are so many things I’d do differently about this costume if I were to redo it. My biggest wish in making this was to make a dress one could actually play sports in. Ultimately – I could, but I wouldn’t want to. Knowing how much my skills on sewing stretch fabrics has improved, I wouldn’t mind eventually remaking this as a fun sportswear sewing venture one day. I really enjoyed wearing this at Pax, and this was one of the first times I was able to successfully plan a collaboration with a friend I had only met on the internet prior to meeting up.
