Why I chose to make this costume:

In 2014, I was really interested in seeing if I could do modelling as a side hustle, and was looking for modeling opportunities anywhere and everywhere. Yes, even Craigslist. I found Ashley looking for a Jack to her Sally to meet and do a photoshoot at a local convention (MonsterCon), and said I was willing. Little did I know, this leap of faith would open the doors to a wonderful journey for me.

Thoughts on this costume:

I really had no idea what I was doing with this. I had a direction, and I went with it as best available. Without this costume, I may have never discovered cosplay and conventions. I even started talking to my now husband because of nerd culture and conventions, so I have a lot to be thankful for when it comes to this costume. I see it as a pivotal point on my timeline that really set me on a very important trajectory. It’s also really important to have these first photos to be able to look back and see how far I’ve come whether it’s sewing, makeup, wigs, or anything else costume related.
