March 2018 Wrap-Up
Well, if it’s any indicator, you can guess how busy I am that my monthly-wrap up from March is coming more than halfway through April. It’s been a good kind of busy, but I have been feeling really guilty about my lack of blog posts. It’s just been one thing that I’ve been able to relax on a little in order to keep up with living. Plus, there’s no blogging to be had if I don’t actually do some of that every now and then.
Rather than post my “big wins” and “do better next times” from March, I’m just going to talk about some of the big things that happened. I’ll do this without going into too much detail because I have SO many blogs on the backlog, and I don’t want to spoil the actual posts I will get to eventually.
March Big Events
I started March with a photoshoot with Kyber Knight Cosplay and White Knight Cosplay at Ghost River Photography. It was my first official photoshoot with these guys in a controlled setting, and they have unleashed a monster. I can’t wait to create more art with them in the future.
I should have jumped straight into SC Comicon preparations, but I felt like I needed a warm-up project. Why me? I have a couple everyday clothes items I’ve had fabric for forever, and I finally made this Beauty and the Beast stained glass dress. It turned out quite amazing, and I can’t wait to do a geeky outfit of the day post once I finally get more than phone pictures of it.
Ryan of Daniel Ryan Fotos and I have so many shoots on the back burner, but when we do get together we create some awesome stuff. We finally got together to shoot this dress by Racheli Titan. He even let me do this amazing punk rock, Jenny Humphrey inspired makeup look for the shoot. It was a lot of fun. I need to add the final photos to my portfolio along with like 100 other shoots and photos.
Originally, I wanted to finish Red Lantern Supergirl for SC Comicon, but that just didn’t happen. I did get the leotard drafted before leaving for a work trip, and I have everything I need to get a large chunk of this done. I may go to Heroes Con for the day, and hopefully I can have this finished by then.
A little engineer by day info for you, I went to San Diego for OFC, but the big highlight of my trip was that my best friend also went to the same trade show. We got to spend an extra day just exploring the city together. I miss her so much, but it makes the time we do have together extra special.
Finally, the big finale to March was SC Comicon, and the reveal of my Rapunzel cosplay with White Knight Cosplay as Mother Gothel and Josh as Eugene Fitzherbert. It was my favorite SC Comicon to date, and I can’t wait to make improvements to Punzie.
