All Hallows’ Geek 2016
I was so excited to go to All Hallows’ Geek this year after missing their debut party in 2015. This post is obviously a little late, but hey I have an increasingly full schedule. I think I could not do anything for the rest of the year and still be behind on blog posts.
All Hallows’ Geek
A little info about the event before I tell you how great it was. All Hallows’ Geek is a Halloween party presented by Big Fandom Greenville, a new up and coming convention in the Greenville, SC area. The idea behind the party was to throw a Halloween Party for cosplayers by cosplayers. Big Fandom’s first convention is actually this weekend, so if you don’t already have your tickets make sure you get them!
What I Wore
This may come as a shock, but as a cosplayer Halloween is like my vacation. I like to take my Halloween costumes a little less seriously than I would a normal cosplay. The past three years I have enjoyed throwing together a thrift store costume or a makeup look that has been put together in less than 24 hours. For this event Kelly and I went as the Cheshire Cat and the Red Queen from Alice In Wonderland. Rather than having crazy elaborate costumes we went for some pretty intense makeup with a simple black corset that we both had and shiny spandex to emphasize the character’s signature color.
For Party
Well, what else would we go to a party to do? Of course as cosplayers we forced all of our friends to take ridiculous photos with us as well. The dance floor was great. My only small complaint was that for $9 a drink I certainly wasn’t anywhere near as drunk as I should have been at the end of the night. Other than that the party was smashing pumpkins. I look forward to next year, and watching it grow.
