October 2016 Wrap-up
Before I say anything else let’s start with Happy Halloween everybody!
Now down to business…Sometimes you just have a month that completely kicks you in the butt. Maybe you’ve noticed that this is only my fifth post this month? That is because I just had one of those months, but we don’t get anywhere by constantly looking backwards. I decided to start a new post that will be kind of a montly wrap-up. In other words, it will be a way to look back on the month, and then no matter what move forward into the next month with a positive outlook.
This month had some downs…
This month honestly has just been rough. Josh and I had brunch today, and we cheered to the end of October. Odd because it is normally one of the months that I most look forward to. I won’t take a lot of time for a pity party here, and I am not really a fan of sharing the bad parts of my life on the internet. That’s what makes us human though, and sometimes it takes someone else being honest about their bad days to realize we aren’t alone through bad moments.
- Car problems. Need I say more?
- South Carolina School Shooting and the death of Jacob Hall.
- Wells Fargo scandal (If you haven’t checked your bank accounts yet you definitely should)
This last one isn’t going to be a bullet point. This month we unexpectedly and quickly had to make the decision to put Josh’s cat Hammy down. We loved him so much, but we know he isn’t in pain anymore. For all of my readers out there with furbabies please hug them extra tight for us.
…But quite a few ups too!
I realized when I was looking at photos over the past month that it really probably wasn’t as bad as I thought it was. This was the exact reason that I wanted to start this post. It is so easy to get wrapped up in negative energy that we forget all of the good things that we are graced with in our lives.
- Completing a Supergirl new cosplay (If anyone wants to photoshoot her let me know!)
- Representing SC Upstate Heroes at Roper Mountain Science Center’s SuperheroSecond Saturday
- Rebranding my logo
- Spider-GWINNING for my artist friend’s art reveal
- Attending All Hallows’ Geek 2016
- Going to my friend’s Halloween party with Josh as the Fairly Odd Parents. Matt starring as Timmy.
- Katie’s bridal shower
- My biggest commission project and first kid’s costume ever!
Moving Forward
I’m really happy to put this October behind me, but the best thing about October is we get to end with Halloween! I think this reflection is going to be great, and November brings brighter days. Let’s do this!
