Sock Hop Sailor Venus Skirt
This is very similar to last Tuesdsay’s post about my Sock Hop Sailor Saturn Skirt, but this time around was a skirt for me. I will be Sailor Venus in our sock hop senshi group. This will be good because a lot of the accessories will be able to carry over for when I finally do my Sailor V costume.
First of all, let’s check out this photo of some of the other girls who I will be cosplaying in this group with. The photo is by COTC Photography. Make sure to go check his other work out as well as the pages of Sailor Jupitor (Queen of Fist Cosplay), Sailor Moon (Andibelle Art), and Sailor Mars (Kender Cosplay). I’m so excited!
Ok. Now for an overview of my skirt. Here is the basic design with the fabric I used to create this design. This is probably the most exciting for me because it is another original design by me, and I absolutely love it!
Once again, I created the iron-ons for the artemis and the hearts using the methods in this blog post. I definitely had to go around these with thread because the ultra fuse-on wasn’t sticking to the feltl. I also used a damp washcloth between the iron and the fabric because the iron would have melted the felt otherwise.
Following the basic instructions for a circle skirt in McCall’s pattern 7253 I finished the design. I’m pretty in love with it. The shoes I ordered for this came in, and I’m so happy I decided not to go cheap on these ones. They are perfect. All that is left to do now is accessorize.
