Heroes Con 2015
Last weekend, I was lucky enough to attend Heroes Convention 2015 at the Charlotte Convention Center. Since I have five hours to wait on this plane, I figured I would finally tell you guys about how fun (and all the in between) it was! Stay tuned. This is probably going to be a longer post.
I’m going to start off with what I didn’t like about this convention. It is a really short list, and then we can get to the good stuff. I was unable to find a schedule of events outside of when the convention hall was open and the two big evening events. I feel like this was the first convention I truly tried to sit down and plan ahead for, and I couldn’t. It would also be nice if they utilized more space in the convention center. From what I could see, there was really only one room and the main hallway for entry being used.
For the events that were on the schedule, I was extremely happy with getting to attend. I got to attend my first Drink and Draw, which I will definitely be going to more of those in the future. They also had the art auction on Saturday night. Both events were filled with good company, and all the proceeds went to charity, which makes it even more fun.
Cosplay. You all know by now that cosplay is the big reason I attend comic book conventions, and I was really excited that it was so well received at this convention. Everyone I encountered had excellent respect and etiquette. I feel like this was a great convention for making new connections, and I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of my new friends again at future cons or elsewhere. Thank you because you make it all worth it. Make sure you check out my Instagram because I am making a special post for you!
A huge thank you to Joe’s Studio for putting up with me all weekend. You were fantastic! I’m so happy that you were able to sell so much of your original artwork. Speaking of cosplay, I can’t wait to share the shoot we did in downtown Charlotte with you in a later blog post!
Did you go to HeroesCon? Did I see you? What other conventions are you planning on attending this year?
