Pokemon Go Book Tag

I was really excited the other day when I read Lazy Lady’s blog post because it was a Pokemon Go Book Tag! The tag was originally created by Read at Midnight, and you can view the original post here. All I could think was how fun is this? When I go to the end of her list I had my fingers crossed that maybe she tagged me, but even better she tagged everyone! After adding several of the books she listed to my “To Read” list I started writing my own tag. Before I get started I’ll just say that I’m going to do the same thing as Lazy Lady, and tag anyone who also wants to do this post.

Pokemon Go Book Tag!

pokemonbook_startersThe Giver was read to me at an extremely young age by my first grade teacher. Looking back I’d say that maybe this book was a bit too old for the audience, but I absolutely fell in love. The imagery created in this book is just absolutely wonderful, and it made me realize that books could take you to places like nowhere on earth.

The Lunar Chronicles. I have actually read the first book in this series. The ending fell so flat for me. She did such a good job of setting it up for a great retelling of a classic fairytale, and it just didn’t live up to my expectations. This is why I have been boycotting reading the rest of the series despite the fact that everyone seems to be obsessed with them. I can’t walk into a bookstore without seeing these books, or someone telling me how much the ending is worth it. Maybe someday I will make it through them, but today is not that day.

pokemonbook_ditto

The Inheritance Trilogy. I’m still calling them a trilogy because I haven’t read the fourth one yet, but I really like these books. I don’t really feel like I need a better explanation than dragons, but they do have a bit of that generic medieval plot line to them. With the orcs, elves, and dwarfs it’s hard to not think about Lord of the Rings when reading these books.

pokemonbook_snorlax

Lord of the Rings. Like Lazy Lady I have found these books overwhelmingly large. I have recently been rereading The Hobbit though because I want to at least start this monstrosity before the end of the year. I feel like as the nerd that I am I cannot go through life not having read this series.

pokemonbook_pikachu

Pride and Prejudice. My favorite. That’s all.

pokemonbook_gengar

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. There are some disturbing things in this book. I am not one to really read scary stories, and this book gave me nightmares in a much worse way than horror films do. Imagination is not always the best thing, but I still read the rest of the serious.

pokemonbook_nidoroyalJane Bennet and Mr. Bingley. I know, but I couldn’t put Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy!!! Truly, I love both couples for different reasons, but at the end of the day I think I would prefer a love like that of Jane and Mr. Bingley. Their love was so simple without everyone else involved, and I really like how appealing they were together as a couple.

pokemonbook_rapidash

Ready Player One. I picked up this book shortly after watching Sword Art Online. It definitely filled the need to have more of Kirito and Asuna in my life. If you like video games and post-apocalyptic stories then you need to read this so bad.

pokemonbook_eevee

Cinderella. This is probably shocking after what I said about my Zubat pick, but I love Cinderella stories. It is so fun to see a classic adapted to a new setting.

pokemonbook_egg

The Costume Making Guide. This is available for pre-order on Amazon right now, and I guess it probably isn’t so much a novel. I am still more excited about this than most fun to read books coming to the market, and you had to know I was going to fit cosplay on here somehow.

pokemonbook_lure

Patrick Rothfuss. Right now he is the only author that I would hands down buy anything he brought to the literary world. He has yet to disappoint, which brings us to our next selection…

pokemonbook_servers

Doors of Stone. Come on man! I know other people have been waiting longer than I have, but seriously. I’m dying to finish the trilogy. PLEASE!

pokemonbook_legendary

Outlander series. A friend of mine obsesses over this series. Now that I think about it she may be obsessed with the TV series, but I have heard great things about the books. I think they may be overhyped, but I would like to jump on the train.

pokemonbook_magikarp

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Let’s be honest. I don’t really like zombies as much as the rest of the world seems to, but a friend gave me this book for Christmas. When the movie was coming out based on it I cracked and gave it a chance. To my own shock I loved it. I still haven’t seen the movie because that same friend told me it was a huge disappointment.

pokemonbook_mews

The Great Gatsby. I love everything about the Roaring 20’s. It is a close second to Pride and Prejudice, but I think I would rather have a copy of this as a collector’s edition.

You are not missing anything in the rest of the Lunar Chronicles. Scarlet (Book 2) is so bad. Ugh.
